Kershaw 1005 - From the late 80's. One of the better if not best factory hollow-handle knives stemming from the Rambo craze. The blade steel is Japanese Aus8A, 1/4" thick. The knife is a little over 12" overall.
Condition notes:
The knife is unused but has been cleanly sharpened to a razor edge.To say this knife shaves would be an understatement! The bead-blast finish has marks from the sawtooth "cover". Kershaw sent this cover to me way back when. It is nothing more than the side binder on a clear plastic writing folder. It has a crack on top but a new one can probably be found at Staples
The sheath is solid. The plastic inner liner has some scuffs and there are some frayed areas on the inner lip of the compass pocket.
Survival items included: I haven't been able to get a definitive list of the original factory items and there seems to have been some variations. The compass and survival cards are intact but the cards show some storage wear. The near 30 year old plastic bag of items and its contents are very aged and it is doubtful that most of the items are in good enough shape to use but are intact. The plastic handle storage tube is in good shape but some of the items are aged. The line and some other items look solid but I can't vouch for how sturdy the pieces still are.
This knife is collectable and is in great shape overall but I'd replace most of the contained items if I intended to use it.
