Personally I think AO is a great feature, and it sells a lot of the non knife people I know on carrying knives since it makes them more "fun". Just picked up a salvo recently though and man that is a great knife for the money, non AO, frame lock, tracktech handle inserts and I found one for $25, very impressive. But that knife pops open so quick as a non AO that I don't see how someone can have a problem with AO. Any knife can be opened slowly if you want, but not every knife can pop open quick.

yes.
I was having a discussion with some other people on the kershaw forum, and Thomas chimed in and said something along the lines of " we sell to people who are looking for something functional at a lower price than lots of offerings on the market." AO sells knives to non knife people who would otherwise just not carry a knife. this forum is not kershaw's target market. this forum is ZT's target market.
I love AO knives ! It looks like it's trendy not to like AO knives. I guess people think AO is for the masses and they feel special with manual openers (like manual vs automatic in cars)
AO works well so I use it. Period
