Kershaw Barrage

I too was a winner of a 2445ST from Thomas. It's a very well made knife. The fit and finish were excellent, especially for a knife in this price range. The blade was very sharp out of the envelope and the serrations performed quite well. I'm not a big fan of combo edged knives, but this one almost persuaded me to give them another try. The observations by others that using the thumb studs for opening was a challenge was true for me, too. I've been spoiled by Kershaw's knives with AO and flippers. All-in-all I think the Barrage is very good value for the money in a well made manual opening framelock.

Even the damascus one is a bargain

Thanks fellas for the replies, i really do appreciate the help. I did apply some CLP to the pivot and tried to back out the pivot screw a little but the screw just spins without loosening up. I found out that if i hold the knife lower in my hand, it is easier to open. I guess i`m getting a better angle to the blade arc that way if that makes any sense. Again, thanks for the help. I`m just getting back into knives again after a couple of years. So far this past week i`ve purchased an OD-1, Barrage, and ordered a CRKT M4 Carson(should be here wednesday) and will probably pick up a Skyline in the next day or two. Man i`m stoked, i hope my pocketbook can keep up and my wife doesn`t disown me LOL..

I have a couple of different versions... definitely one of my favorites.

If you push your thumb straight up, without any arc, basically parallel to the handle, the knife will flip open easily. Took me a while to figure this out. Also, not specific to this knife but in general, don't apply any downward pressure, even a little can bind the opening. I flick it open with my thumb... kinda like I was going to flip a coin (if that makes sense).
