I'm in the mood for a Ken Onion-designed folder in a break from all the S&Ws and Schrades that I typically collect, and I've narrowed my choice down to either three listed above.

What would BF recommend out of these three? They all look mostly identical, and all use value steel.

Whirlwind or Shenanigan

Main differences I would consider:
USA vs. Taiwan
14c28n vs. AUS8
Assisted vs. Manual
<4.5" vs >4.5" handle

If I was choosing, while I do prefer USA made when applicable, sandvik steel over aus8, and I certainly don't mind assisted the way Kershaw does it, design-wise I prefer the look of the Shenanigans bigger handle with the finger choil, and I'm not crazy about the whirlwinds holes, plus I already own a handleful of Blurs, (assisted kershaws, USA made, onion designed, incl. an OD green with Sandvik blade), so I would opt for the Shenanigan for something different.

Blackout. American made , and a great edc knife.
Edit: I just did a search.....for less than $60 bucks you cant go wrong.

Kershaw Blackout. I EDCed one for about six years as my only knife. It served me well. I actually lost it a couple times over those years and immediately bought a replacement without either looking at others because I just loved that knife so much. The only reason I finally bought a different knife is because I wanted a separate work knife (I keep all my work things--to include uniform and tools--separate from my non-work items for cleanliness reasons). Then I got the bug and went on a knife buying binge. I enthusiastically recommend the Blackout. Awesome knife
