Kershaw " blem"

I really recommend that you dont buy a kershaw blem if it's a model with speed safe (assisted opening). kershaw makes great knives but the speed safe system breaks eventually on all the knives i've had (especially if you're like me and sit there and open it over and over and over again). i had a leek that lasted about a year? (pretty impressive considering i opened 1000's of times) but on one of my cheaper kershaws the assisted opening only lasted a couple weeks. I don't know about you but i would have been really pissed if i didn't have kershaws excellent warranty covering my knives when they broke.

Yeah Kershaw's warranty service is so good that I find it well worth the extra few bucks to get a non-blem. However, for the torsion bars they will send you new ones to replace the broken one for free even if it is a blem. So even if you do have a "warranty void" blem, you can still get better customer service than some companies offer.

i bought two blems. one was a ram, perfect in function. only issue was a missing finish by the pivot area and messed up screws. no big deal. a good value, and good user knife.

i then bought a kimura iv blem. the blade was ground very poorly, so that it removed allot of steel, and almost like a bad very slight recurve. the edge is very thick. it's at the point where i'd have to remove allot of steel to get it thin enough to be a good slicer. it's like it was re-profiled for a "normal" lifetime of use where it is at. i was under impressed by this one, but i also assume it's a rarity in the world of blems. after all they can't all be about perfect. it was also half the cost of a new one, so i can't complain since i guess i still got half a blade.

I've seen some Kershaw xxxx blems online at great prices. What would the problem be in the knife to make it a blem.

Most of the time you won't even see the blemish, even if someone tells you were it is

I got a blem jyd 2 and as far as I can work out the jimping on the flipper is just a wee bit sloppy.

have a blur blem ... blade has model # for tanto but is regular plain edge. no xxx's otherwise perfect condition
