I think john is confused the shallot is a great edc. maybe confused by the scallion, the smaller one. I have the shallot in three versions and the Damascus black handle is my favorite, the other two are the 14c28n and one was a special run, I don't remember the steel but all three are good edc's just the Damascus has the extra pop and I like the edge better. I like the blur but its a bit wide for me.

I own the Shallot and love it. I'm a big fan of this series designed by Ken Onion. They are very slim, although a bit heavy due to the stainless handles. I prefer to carry something that can take more abuse, so have put a very narrow edge on it and use the Shallot as my steak knife.
