Kershaw Blur blade lock-up question

So I've had my Blur for a couple years and really love the knife. My only question is how firm should the lock-up be when the blade is open? I ask becase it doesn't feel terrible on my Blur but its still got a hint of play. Also, I know spine whacks are frowned upon and I would never attempt to hammer through a peice of wood with the spine like Ive seen tests on youtube, but when I just let the weight of the knife fall and hit a stack of magazines the blade closes. My brother has a blur just like mine only with a combo edge and his lockup does not do this.

I'm wondering what is considered acceptable by Kershaw and if this is something worth sending the knife in to be looked at. I'm mainly concerned as I had knife years ago close on my hand cutting my knuckle open to the bone and half the tendon. Im very careful now not to poke, stab, or pry with a folder but I still would like the peace of mind knowing it wont close easily if I accidentally put too much pressure on the back of the blade. Thanks!

If you're concerned, then send it in. None of mine had any play, but metsfan had a GB Blur that needed work. They'll fix it.

The lockup on all my Blurs have been very solid. How far does the liner lock engage with the blade? Mine go about 75% the width of the liner itself (pic below is what most of mine look like, click for higher res). It certainly shouldn't disengage with just the weight of the knife leaning on it.

Just send it in and they'll take care of it. Just make sure you cite exactly what the problem is. I had lock slip on my glassbreaker blur and they fixed the issue.

Mine seems to engage similar to yours, I would say nearly the entire liner is touching the blade. From just looking at it I can't see why mine has an issue and my brothers doesn't other than his lock up seems more firm.

Also it doesn't close with just the weight of the knife leaning on it, I meant if you hold it while open at the end of the handle and let it swing down with its own weight hitting the spine on a stack of magazines it will close.

I will send it in to Kershaw and see if they can take a look at it. Thanks again
