Okay, so I have truly fallen for the Kershaw Blur, as I feel as though it suits my needs perfectly. I have a BDZ-1 Blur which I think is perfect, and I just bought a user Blur (1670BLK) that I think would be perfect for a project. This is what I'm thinking (and I'm open to ideas/ suggestions):

- Strip the DLC coating and acid wash the blade.

(I think that one is simple and straightforward, and I also feel as though I have my mind set on that, although I am still open to suggestions on that one)

- Get different inserts to change out the Trac-tec (?)

(I really want to do this, and this is where the creativity of others kicks in. I was thinking I just want the CF inserts that were shipped with some of the LE Blurs, but I'm also open to other ideas. Those CF inserts are apparently impossible to find, as well.)

- (MAYBE) Somehow change the color of the stock liners.

(I was thinking at the minimum strip the DLC coating and keep it at the bare aluminum? Or maybe go further and somehow have it colored to something different? Again, open to ideas.)

SO, all in all, this may be a project that I want to get into, but I really need pricing info. I have no idea what most of this would cost for someone to do, or even if its possible. So far, I have only gotten quotes for the acid washing of the blade, because that's all I could really describe without writing as much as I have in this thread (one guy said $55 including sharpening and shipping, another guy said $40). All I'm really asking is for pricing information from one person (if possible). If this can't be done by one person, I don't think I want to get it done. So post away with suggestions/ ideas/ whatever, because honestly, anything is appreciated!

Thanks in advance, BF.
