Kershaw Blur opinions

I am also interested in the new Benchmade 755 when I can get one. I like the look of the composite blade in the Blur and thats why I was after one, it doesnt matter if its a liner lock or a recurve I just like the look of it which is probably 90% of the reason I buy a knife. I am interested in this one as a EDC so I wondered if many people had one. Thanks for all the info everyone I am ordering one today.

tonym1,

I'd say to go for a non-blem, my came with blade not centered. I had to tighten it almost to the point of being non-deployable to center it. No box, Kershaw warranty, no logo, nothing on the plain handle or stone-washed blade but 4 x's. Butt ugly! Sold it on flea-bay. For the xtra $'s you'll get one that looks prettier works great and you can get repaired if needed.

That's just me though, I like quality + knives with a bit of eye appeal. :)

Hi cziv -

Must be luck of the draw - the two blem's I got were perfectly centered and had the blades finished but sterile. Seriously, I could not determine what the blemish was on the two I bought - picture of one -

I like the Blurs very much! Great knives. I just wish they a flipper on their blade like most other Kershaws do.

If its just the logo you're after, I'd agree. But something nice about Kershaw's stonewashed blades is a night of TV and a few pieces of 320 aluminum oxide paper, and you're ready to go to the buffing wheel. Even without buffing, you get a nice semi-satin finish quickly. Then a vinegar bath for the blade, and the ZDP really stands out.

And as for blade centering, kneedeep did a great writeup on how to easily correct the problem, complete with easy to follow pictures. You can find it in the Kershawholics Social Group.

And I have just about every Blur ever made, and they often find their way into my pockets. Great knives at street prices, and the blems from kershawguy are an even better deal.
