Kershaw Blur or Leek, Which One Would You Get?

I feel your pain. I also found this forum recently and was bitten by the knife bug. I recently purchased the OD Green Tanto Blur and I love it. I read you changed your order from the OD green to the purple, did the green blur have a tanto point? What website did you purchase from? Now that I know more about steels and different type of knives, it is taking everything I have not to buy another knife or at the very least another Blur in S30v. You made a great choice with the Blur and you're going to love it. I love mine! Every time I think about "upgrading" I reach for the Blur and realize it does everything I need it to and that there is no need. Oh and the assisted opening is addicting...I flick it open ALL the time. It has gotten to the point where my girlfriend told me to stop because it keeps her up at night while I sit on the couch flicking it open and she is trying to sleep in the bedroom :D

I'd take a Blur over a Leek (mainly because of the size of my hands and the small size of the leek).

When I had the choice about two months ago, I bought the S30V Leek. I love it. I work in an office and it's the perfect EDC for me.

However, in about a week, I'll be buying a Blur though I'm not sure which steel I'll get. After that, I'm getting the Speedform II with Elmax steel.

So my vote is for both, plus some.

JMHO,
Allen

For lighter use the Leek is your answer, with that being said I've found the ergonomics on the Blur to be excellent and feature OD green/Tan handles that are pretty nifty to say the least . Also take a look at the Zing, it offers a sort of middle ground between the Blur and Leek IMO.

The true Blade Forums answer is buy both. ;)

Both are very good knives. And if you're truly addicted, you'll end up owning at least one of each. You can't go wrong with either one.

My first was the S30V Blur. Really didn't like the "pointyness" of the Leeks. Got a Random Leek, though, and really liked it.

I have the Blur S30V and I de-assisted it as soon as I got it out of the packaging and have never looked back. I think it flicks out faster manually. I recommend the Blur but you won't find the S30V version in the $50 range.

A Blur blem in S30V cost me $55.
