Kershaw Blur vs Spyderco PM2

I don't agree that s30v is same steel on both knifes. s30v depends on a good heat treatment, I think spyderco here has the edge and that's where the some of "premium" price comes from. PM2 is IMO slightly better performer, but blur s30v is decent alternative.

Interesting, I've never heard this. Any tests that show that Spyderco's S30V is better than Kershaw's S30V?

There is video on YouTube that shows amazing cutting power of PM2 (s30v vs s35vn how good are they?) something I cannot seem to do with my s30v blur. The guy raped PM2 for 20minutes and didn't make any difference on the edge! There's your proof.

The Blur is just "a" knife while the PM2 is "thee" Knife and there really is not any comparison ~~ at least not in my Knife world.!**^

The Blur is nice, but I do not normally like liner locks.
The PM2 feels amazing in the hand. I like the fact that the handle is longer than the blade. I have large thick hands and the PM2 fits very nicely. So, if you have large hands or think you might use the knife outdoors with thick gloves, get the PM2.

I don't own a Blur but I very much like Kershaw's knife offerings. All I've had experience with have been excellent. However, over the years I've learned to really dislike assisted opening knives and Kershaw has too many of them that cannot be deassisted and maintain function. The Blur is an exception since it is reported to be able to be deassisted and that is a definite plus, IMO. But whether the AO is a pro or con is personal. The Blur is more generally available at a lower price than the PM2 and those are definitely features in its favor.

Like the Kershaw's, all the Spydercos I've owned have been excellent. I do own a PM2. It has become one of my favorite knives. I put it on a par with the approximately same sized Spyderco Gayle Bradley folder and ZT 0550 as far as build quality and functionality. It's a joy to use and, like all Spyderco knives I've handled, it feels like it was designed for my hand. Negatives include cost and availability. Possible negatives are the Spyderco blade hole that some people dislike and the blade shape that tapers to a very narrow, thin point that can be fragile if abused.

I'm sure either knife will serve you well.

I never really had any spyderco folders except balis. But the blur is a awesome knife and they just came out with a new blur that is really nice. Definitely one to buy.

That "guy" (smokeeater908) is also on this board, he knows his sharpening.
You wouldn't be able to do that with a factory edge ;)
And he didn't "rape" the knife, he just used them...

Bought a Pm2 because of all the hype.
I was left really unimpressed: Its a nice knife for sure, but the action on mine was really gritty, a bit to big and wide for me to constantly EDC, and just wasn't impressed with the compression lock, so I traded it after 2 weeks.
Blackwash Elmax blur if on its way and I'm hoping that its what I'm hoping for

Well, I like the lock, ergos and blade shape of the Para 2 better than those of the Blur, so it's my pick. That said, the Blur is still an excellent knife and the difference in preference is relatively small. Hard to go wrong with either one.

Both are cool, but the ParaMililtary 2 is the winner :)
