Has anyone had any hands on time with the kershaw burst? I really dig the blade shape, the steel and handle not so much. i know its only 20 bucks but i cant find any reviews for it.

What about the steel and handle are unpleasant?

well truth be told the steel isnt terrible, but i love that blade shape so much that i would pay to have an upgraded steel. Something in a semi stainless carbon steel like m4 would be right up my alley. I just dont like the design on the handle aesthetically, having never handled one I have no idea of how great traction it offers, but i dont like the design. Though i do like 3d texturing on my handles.

I think for the price, the steel and features on this knife is MORE than adequate. Kershaw just keeps coming out with really nice knives at amazing prices. I call them the blue collar knives :-)

anyone got pics?

I like it.

I just ordered on today, I will try to remember to update you guys on how it is when it gets here.

That knife looks terrific. Been very happy with Nerve, Chill, Asset, other 'cheap' Kershaws. Steel is more than good, and touches up beautifully, perhaps even better than their 14xxxx whatever 'improved' steel. These are great knives.

Check out Nutnfancy's YouTube video at the 2011 SHOT show. Jennifer from Kershaw has a pre production Burst with factory G-10 handles. Now that's the way it should be produced.

My Burst just got here. First impressions of it are very good. The blade is very nice, decent thickness and it comes shaving sharp out of the box. A tiny bit of side to side blade play but I can easily adjust that. Besides that the lockup is solid. The handle fits my hand very well and is thick enough to get a good grip on the knife. The texturing on the handle scales could offer more grip but for a knife I payed 25 dollars for I am very pleased. The spring is strong and the blade comes out fast. The knife comes set to right side tip up carry and can be switched to left side tip up, tip down is not an option. The clip itself is small but it is strong and is easy enough to clip to the pocket. Overall I am very impressed so far with this knife, especially since it was so inexpensive.

a reasonably strong lock that at the same time doesnt tolerate much abuse. no vertical play but some side to side. not the strongest but strong enough

You are too easy to please. I watched the video on wealljuggleknives' channel a few days ago and it seemed like a nice looking knife. I thought his comment on the traction design was pretty funny.

I have to say that I like that blade a lot too. I would love one in VG10 or Sandvik 14C28N.

I have a newer Meyerco Blackie Collins Classic with 8cr13mov steel also. I'd be curious how these two knives compare to each other. My Meyerco seems a level above their typical offerings, blade centers perfectly closed, zero play when open, coating hasn't worn one bit... a pleasant surprise, much like most of the Chinese-made Kershaws I've bought.

Just picked up a Burst and received it today. Great concept, almost great execution. Size is right, opens with a snap. Handle offers good retention. Pocket clip likes to take a chunk of material out with it when I remove knife from pants pocket. Blade is a little to the right, not rubbing, but I can't seem to center it even when adjusting. I think for $25 delivered it's a great value. Sort of in the OSO Sweet class, but better. Just my opinon.

Dude... If they milled out those liners, and they slapped a couple g10 slabs (maybe even titanium) on there, and used s30v, it might just be the perfect knife. The blade is beautiful. I know, the price would be different, putting it in a completely different category, but imagine if kershaws speed safe was mixed with benchmade materials.
