Kershaw Chive and Scallion owners....

I checked out the Chive at Walmart today and I was a little underwhelmed.
It's just too small for my tastes and I really was'nt that impressed with the tiny frame-lock.
Well, different strokes....

Good luck,
Allen.

Had one used it as a keyring knife with a quick release, liked it loads, but I gotta agree with Pendetive keep the safety on.
Actually I'm trying to figure out how to adapt the safety to my older BM Autos, AFO, and Mini Reflex.

Seein' as how there seems to be some more talk about the chives, and Speed Safe Technology, I'll include some Pics I took after I got it, and tore it apart.

I really like my BC coated Chive. I carry with the safety off unless I'm doing something "sport-like." I really didn't like the size at first, but I carry it as a backup to either my Boa or my M18 so the size isn't a problem--I use the Chive when I want a small knife that will go unnoticed and I use my other knife/knives when I need something bigger. What I like about the Chive is that I can kind of hide it in my hand while I am making a cut and no one will notice. Most of the time I carry it in my right rear pocket with the blade up against the side so it won't open by itself.

ZENGHOST,

I've been carrying my Chive clipped to my left rear pocket, next to my wallet. Like you, I've found that using it for smaller chores is more convenient at times when a larger blade may become obtrusive...and attract attention.;) It's a great little knife, and because I don't use it all the time, it stays razor sharp.

Another neat carry option is a kydex sheath for a key ring or as a mini neck knife.

Eric E. Noeldechen makes some really nice kydex sheaths for the Chive for about $16 his E-mail address is below.
