Hello all! Was thinking about getting a Kershaw Chive Blk from my local classified because they are discountinued. Do you think the Black Chive will be an appreciating asset or depreciating? Thanks!

They are a nice little knife but too light weight for me, I kept losing them.

Welcome , you may want to read the rules about asking the value of a knife.

I don't believe the OP asked for an evaluation of the knife he was thinking about getting, and only asked if that knife might go up or down in value.

Welcome bobpickle...as with any production knife, the odds are very, very likely that it's value will go down.

Knives are a terrible investment. Buy what you like and expect to lose money.

I don't know how much it will appreciate over time. KershawGuy has some rare and discontinued pieces you could view.

You'd sure appreciate using it though. I like the Chive a lot.

I have a Chive. It's a nice little knife, but I would be surprised if it would develop any particular collector value over time. If you like the size and design, then sure, get one to use. But I would not buy one as an investment.

I don't know, because I found it the black one is discontinue. That's the only reason I thought it would have any collector value

I believr it would eventually go up in value. not a ton. But there are a lot of kershaw collectors, and the chive is a very popular knife overall. Get the black one for sure, keep it mint, and buy another to beat on :)

I bet if someone asked this about the tilt or talon way back when, people would've said the same thing, but tilts are over 500 now!
