OK, so this is odd...the new Kershaw / Emerson model revealed at SHOT yesterday, the 9K, is shown in pictures both with and without the wave feature? What's the story on this? The product copy mentions the wave and it is obviously a signature of Emerson designs BUT there are real Emersons made without the wave also. I would normally post this in the brand forum but KAI/Kershaw closed theirs so in general it goes.

Link to product page (I think this is kosher, since it's the maker not a dealer):

It has a sneaky-beaky wave. It's hidden by the handle when open, similar to the Emerson Raven. Stealth wave.

Ah I see! Glad to see I'm not losing it or taking crazy pills (usually)...That's a cool design, reminds me of the Iron Dragon (conceptually at least, not materials wise obviously).

I have one, it came out early last week...overall very impressed, they FINALLY got it right on one of these models. Hey, only took them 9 tries!

The knife is quite large, in the same general size category as the Commander (similar blade shape too) and Iron Dragon. Overall I feel the knife most closely resembles the Iron Dragon in design (not in materials or manufacture obviously!), a large broad blade with a recurve and a frame lock. The build quality is very good, equal to the 6 and 7K (which are much better made than the other models, especially the 1-3K which are total junk). The action was very tight from the factory but I loosened the pivot slightly and added a little mineral oil.

One odd thing to note: the one I have uses two different type of washers, PB on one side and plastic on the other...very odd.
