Kershaw Cryo II not flipping as strongly?

It hasn't even been a week since I got my cryo2 and, just now, it started flipping a little weaker than it used to. For instance, compared to the first day I got the knife, I could light-switch the flipper while keeping my hand steady and the blade would spring out; when I flip the blade open now I also have to gently flick my wrist to get the rest of the momentum going.

The cryo2 has become my favorite edc because of the assisted opening alone. I have been playing with the knife alot -- almost constantly at home or work, flipping the knife open. I'm wondering: would that have affected the assisted opening? Can it be fixed?

Check the pivot tension. If you may have carried it in any environment with dirt, or very linty pockets, it may just need a cleaning. I use wd-40 to clean. Spray down liberally, work it a bit, then do it again. Then I wipe down, and blow out with compressed air until pretty much dry.

Also, try holding the lock away from the blade while half open (not under spring tension). If the blade does not swing freely, you may just have to loosen the pivot just a hair...and I mean a very tiny bit. If it is glued with locktite, you may need to heat it a bit with a hair dryer.

Doh! That was my third thought. But thought it was very remote possibility as I've never experienced a spring breakage.....even with OCD. [emoji12]

Hi, my name is Bflying, and I'm a flipping abuser.

How many flips or hours of flipping did it take to break?

You don't have to send it in. In this case warranty would just send you a new torsion bar and you can swap it yourself.
