I have a full-size Kershaw Cyclone (3 1/2" cutting edge), with some unusual features. I'm putting this out there, to see what I've got.

The presentation side of the blade says "Kershaw Speedsafe USA", and it appears to be correct.

The clip side is marked "1630 KAI Patented MADE IN USA". Also, as it should be.

The clip is marked "Kershaw", as well.

I'm told that there should be a year of manufacture on the clip side, down near the flipper stud. This is missing, and there are no marks to indicate that it was removed after the factory.

I bought it new in box, but I bought it from a flea market vendor, so I have no way to authenticate the knife.

It looks and feels like a Kershaw, in terms of fit and finish. But it's missing a few details, so I don't know what I have?

So what do you other knife knuts think? Do I have a blem, or something really unusual?

Thanks in advance.

There's really no way anyone can help you without pictures.

Hurr. Yeah, you would think I would know better than that, after three years.

Horrible laziness. Give me time, I'll post a couple. Just took six, and they were all out of focus. Grr.

Time to smash a camera, then have some coffee.

well, I have several known usa made kershaws and zt's and I just finished looking and there is no date, where did you get this info from?a blem would have xxxx out from kai pat. so if your is unusual from no date all mine are

Kershaw stopped putting dates on blades in 2009 - so you likely just have one that is "post date"

I believe mqqn, because his avatar told me to!

No, seriously. He knows what he's talking about, but I said I would post some pics, so here we go.

A bit jumbled, but the blade and scales of both presentation and clip sides, as well as the spine, and the lock.

In the meantime, I did find a link to an old sale post for this model. It seems like this was a less common version, but a legitimate one.

Still, I appreciate the collective knowledge and information of Bladeforums, and it's always good to have more information!

Mine is dated June 06 and has the switch on the spine to turn the Speedsafe on or off. I believe at the time of purchase all of the Cyclones had this option, I just can't recall when this option was discontinued.

I think sometime in 2009 they built out the rest of the non-tanto Cyclones, and at the time they omitted the on/off switch due to lack of enough parts to complete the build-out.

That was posted by the Director of Marketing for Kai USA on this forum if one were to enjoy a little historical searching.

That might mean the OP's knife is one of these build out knives, as a point of speculation.
