This looks like a cool inexpensive small knife that imho may become a big hit. I hadn't heard much about until today.
Rick Hinderer talks briefly about it at 07.36 in this video.

Agreed. People just love affordable Hinderer designs. I know I do

Good vid. He seems like a totally down to earth dude.

The Ember's thumb ramp design is pretty smart, considering how small the overall knife is. I don't see myself going any smaller than a Cryo for EDC, but the Ember makes sense for those who want a really compact knife. Personally, I'm going to be looking for the ZT 0180 as soon as they become available.

I like the design a lot, but that thing is waaay too small for me. I don't think I'd ever use it. My brother gave me a Chive and I carried it for a couple of years in my pocket. Never cut a thing with it. I really like the looks of that Cryo 2 Tanto with blackwashed blade. That looks awesome.

Anyone have a clue when these will be released? Some sites have pre-orders which makes me think soon. I don't need another knife but a Hinderer designed flipper w pocket clip for $20 is hard to pass up!

I know Ill buy one but know its to small for me to edc. Ill have to check it out tho I love all Hinderer designs!!!! Ill let the girlfriend carry it after im done with it she like the smaller blades

I fell in love completely with this little Ember and the Amplitude (Rexford). LOVE my OD-2 and Centofantes

This is what happens when a cryo gets thrown into the
Dryer in High heat.

I really like most of their upcoming designs; they look incredible. Cryo 2 Tanto, Starter, Lifter, Manifold, Nura, Thistle, etc. But, it'd be great if they also made some folders with 4" - 4.5" blades. I think the largest Kershaw has made is 3.5"?

This is perfect size for law office. Should fit right into coin pocket. And won't be butthurt if confiscated in courthouse since so cheap. For sure buying when available!!

If it comes in Black Wash (so the scratches don't show,) I'd put one on my keychain.

Anyone heard when these will be available yet? Dont follow kershaw much but this caught my eye.

I'm also wondering when this will hit the streets. First kershaw at really flips my switch.

Interesting vid.

I'm surprised to see that he designed an assisted, 1-inch flipper.
