The rounded flipper of the JYD2 may help to reduce the likelihood of catching on things.

How are the egronomics/security on hard stabs/thrusts?

With some forethought - pretty good.

The handle is well contored and fits my hand well.

Thrusting in a normal edge-down hold the index finger falls neatly in the lock cut-out - that along with the flipper forms quite a good guard. The handle is long - but I can get the butt to press against the edge/heel of my hand for an end-stop.

The reverse edge-up hold for me is not really suitable for thrusting - even if the thumb can be placed on the cut-out and flipper.

Stabbing, ice-picking - again the lock cut-out and the flipper form quite a substantial guard for a folder and with an edge-out hold, the pinky falls nicely in the cut-out and I always place my thumb on the butt to prevent slippage.

The reverse hold edge-in again is not suitable - I want to rotate the knife so that the edge of my hand falls in the cut-out.

As for the lock - I have not torture tested it extensively - it spine-whacks...
the liner-lock is thick at a spec'd 0.070" (and measured up to 0.080") almost frame-lock like - and is just 100% engaged (I was very impressed with that) - it gives me a good impression.

Thanks for the details, I like the looks, clip looks interesting as well, stands out strongly. Nice clean blade profile. Bit aggressive looking for an EDC but that is just too much general ignorance, it isn't like stabbing someone with a SAK is any less of a problem.
