I'm hoping to bring this together in the next few weeks. Yesterday I picked up a standard JYDII. Up to this point I had not really liked or disliked this knife, just sorta neutral I guess. After bringing it home and playing with it a bit, I took it apart to clean and polish the inside. At the same time I tweaked the lock by giving it more bend so that I have a stiffer lockup, something I like, also applied some of the black 3M Stair Step tape to the clip to help subdue all that shiney! After putting it back together and tightening it to my liking, really like a tight pivot, I got to looking at the blade shape and begin to see how much thought went into the design. This is a fantastic slicer. Back to the clip for a moment, I emailed STR about doing me another foldover, deep-carry clip for this knife. Back at Christmas I got my son a JYDII Composite and a STR clip. I believe he has carried that knife more than any he has since receiving it.

So, what's this trifecta talk? Today I found a new JYDII SG2 titanium framelock and I have ordered it! Will be the last of the month before I get it, but I'm definately excited! Went to the Kershaw archives and hunted down some of the posts made about this variation so that I could see some pics and get further info on it, and what I found made me glad I ordered it! Now I will only need the JYDII Composite to fill out the set. Don't know if I will order anothe clip from Steve as I figure I can put the foldover clip on whichever version I decide to carry.

The question begs to be asked, anyone else have the Kershaw JYDII trifecta, and if so, what is your favorite carry piece of the three?:):D:)

Funny, I just ordered a SG2 Ti model this morning.

And yes, I`m a huge fan of this design. Tip down carry is ok with me, especially with linerlocks that are not Speed assisted. I had the JYDII for a few months and it quickly became a favorite. And up until today, I`d wanted an SG2 Titanium model. I`m as excited as you, believe me! And yes, the CB will be the icing on the cake when I get it next!

We will require pics of course, I`ll post mine when they get here.

Did someone say trifecta?

I think I like the original the best. The others are just for the collection.

You two guys are going to be very pleased with the Ti JYD ll's.

Mine are two of the slickest knives I've found.

I'll never have the Trifecta I guess, as when I received the TiSG2, I ordered a second one and sold my original regular JYDll. But, I do envy Trifecta owners.

Hey serratededge, just out of curiousity, and to make sure we didn't order the same one, where did you find the one you ordered?

Has anybody who owns the JYD II Ti and a regular or CB JYD II swapped a G-10 scale and liner, from the original or the CB, and put it on the non-lock side of the JYD II Ti yet? If so, how'd it work for ya?

The original I have (not really THE original I guess) has the black, dimpled G-10, not the grey/green. I guess that means there are actually 4 variations.;)

lol, cutter, you have email.

BTW, how far did you bend the lock? I was think of doing that to mine, but was afraid to foul things up by going to far?

Yes, black coated blades in serrated version only.

And my only one is the black g10 regular blade, but its not satin finished, its bead blasted.

We could go "9" if you count the early versions that were grey/green g10. Then they used another color of g10 for that same model number that is flat grey.

"son of a mother" can you say confusion?

WOW! Looks like a trifecta-trifecta. The one I picked up yesterday has the grey G-10. Btw, got the email and we are good to go!

Got my first Kershaw, a JYDII 1725ST, on Wednesday and am a happy chappie! :D

I intended getting a JDYI because I do not have a framelock of any make, but if the JYDII SG2 titanium model is a framelock it would be on the top of my to get list.

I'm a proud trifecta owner and although I love all three models I usually carry the original JYDII. I just can't bring myself to use my SG2 Ti model and the CB blade JYDII model I have is #1 of 500 of the first production models. The SG2 model is just ridiculously awesome. The blade is super sharp with a thin grind and the titanium scales are absolutely rock solid. I use the original quite often. The liner lock is almost as good and strong as a frame lock and the blade takes a crazy sharp edge. The JYDII is a great workhorse.
