What is the unusual fastener on the butt end of this knife? Is it for a lanyard? If so, is a specialized lanyard required? Can it be removed and a more traditional fastener be used in it's place?

Thank you.

I believe it is a screw so that the knife can be disassembled by the factory for warranty work.

Dan is correct. It's a specialized screw that holds the rear of the handle together while providing a hole to thread your lanyard through, that's if you use dental floss as a lanyard

Thanks for the replys. I've never seen that type of fastener before. I thought it may be for a lanyard, but like you said, you would have to use dental floss. I thought maybe there was some type of metal keeper that clipped in there. Thanks again.
