Kershaw Ken Onion Ricochet=big disappointment...

I've had a Ricco chet for a couple of months and I'm pretty happy with it. The only complaint I have is with the clip. It's almost like an after thought. I had to remove mine and bend it to make it tight enough to hold onto anything (this also corrected a slight problem with the blade being off center and contacting the liner when closed). The lock up is solid, though, it passes the spine whack test and all in all I'm very satisfied. I've been wondering why Kershaw is not making a bigger splash with these knives than they are??

My only experience with Kershaw is my Eandom Task model. It is a great knife. Fit &finish are excellent, good lock up, comfortable to use, great edge retention. Plan on getting a Boa asap. Thanks for pointing out your problems so I can insist my Boa gets inspected before shipping.

I have three Kershaw knives, a Starkey Ridge, a G-10 Hawk and a Ti Talon. These are all well made, good knives. My wife liked the Hawk so much it lives in her back pocket. My next one will be a Mini Task and I'm sure I will like it just as much. It seems my Kershaws see more use than my BM's, Bokers or Bucks, my only complaint is having to tighten the pocket clip screws now and then and if I'd use a bit of loctite that would be solved.

My first richocet was a nightmare also. It made horrible noises and the lockup was a joke. I sent it back twice and 3 days after I got it back the spring broke all together.
They replaced it after that And I am happy to say the new knife kicks butt. Dawn at kershaws cust service seems like a very nice gal and she is with the program. Hopefully all the quality controll will get cleared up and everyone will get a good speedsafe. Thanks for the kick ass knife ken.

For anyone in the know, Does Kershaw have a policy reguarding the original Random Tasks with a less powerful spring? Can I get it replaced OR updated with a better spring or mechanism. Thanks.

Only who does nothing never does something wrong. Kearshaw did something wrong - Kershaw corrected this mistake. This is the main idea of warranty and good customer service, right?

I have three Kershaw knives and I have no one quality problem so far.
Ti-Hawk is my favorite suit knife, for special occasions. Exceptionally elegant appearance, smoooooth action. I have pushed it into my flatbed scanner to show it here: http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum54/HTML/001019-2.html
Ricochet has also very elegant look, I'm thinking hard to replace Ti-Hawk for gentleman's carry with Ricochet or not

Here is my review on this knife: http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001664.html
This time I'm admiring new Avalanche and "playing" with it. Please wait for review on this knife a while later. Here are Misque's initial impressions on Avalanche: http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001656.html

However lockup on all my Kershaw knives have passed all my spine hack tests and Speed Safe mechanism on last two models works flawlessly.

Ghecko, as to my knowledge Ken Onion collaborations are made in Kershaw plant in USA, however Hi-Tech series knives like Wild Turkey are made in Japan and have designed by Japanese designers.

I recently purchased an Avalanche, and I do not have any problems with it.
Fit and finish are superb.
I would go for a larger folder with SpeedSafe if Kershaw made it though.
