Definitely YES
i removed it from mine, there are three screws at each side.
I plan to replace the scales because of "China" infused into the right one.

BTW - the Echo I received has a full flat grind - very nice, but I am wondering if it was an earlier productionrun, or is it the current production or is it just a fluke?

Mine too what is it about the grind?

Yes the scales are removable,,easily with an Allen key...

Get one,,you won't be disappointed with it..

As far as the CHINA Embossed on the side..I see I'm not the only onew bothered by it...

The good news is,,if you have some basic tools ,,like a hairdryer or heatgun,,some really fine sandpaper and a popcicle stick,,it is Easily removed,, and if done properly,,you'd have a hard time telling where it even was..

I sanded mine down,,then heat polished the back end of both scales just to even it out..Absolutely no trace of it anywhere on the knife...

Now I will wear the knife..

Thanks Bigbore & Eric. I'm going to pick one up. I definitely would not like the CHINA stamp either. That's why I wanted to know if the scales came off. I think I'll take them off and slap on some carbon fiber or G-10 ones. (uh-oh gotta buy sandpaper!)

Anyway, for the price I don't see how I can go wrong. Thanks again guys.
