I bought this knife back in 2000 during a visit to Kruger National Park in South Africa. It has a nice flaground blade that is 3.5" and the OAL is about 8". The liner is useless. Can you guys tell me if Kershaw does repairs? This is a nice knife that would actually make a decent user and there is no point in just taking up space in my knife bag forever.

Kershaw is top notch on repairs... all you have to do is send it to Kershaw and the warranty Dept. will either repair it or replace it with either an identical knife or a very nice comparable knife. good luck!

:) Guess I should have qualified. I'm sure we will just offer you a current replacement of equal value. So yes, you will get a new knife.

I would be very grateful for that. I will look up the warranty department and send the knife and a letter to Kershaw.

This could be fixed with a ball peen....a few whacks to the liner would stretch it out a bit and extend the locks life

A version of it was available here around 1999/2000. It was the larger version of a knife whose name escapes at the moment.

There were two similar knives.

The Hawk (top knife)

(Blade) Steel - ATS-34
Handle - Titanium
Blade Length - 3 5/16"
Closed Length - 4 3/8"

and the Wild Wild Turkey (bottom knife).

The Hawk is the American equivalent of my South African King Cheetah.

I think they were in the same area code. Whatever Kershaw choses to do is fine by me. I'm hoping they will replace if they cannot fix it, but if thye can fix it, I will be very happy because it essentially a new knife since the lockup was so bad I only used once or twice. Heck, I almost sliced off my finger just taking it out of my pocket before I even left South Africa.
