Kershaw King Cheetah Needs Repair

I heard from Kershaw today. They said my King Cheetah was beyond repair, and they would replace it. It was valued at $100, and I was a given a catalog from which to choose a knife. I was given a order number, and I called them up, my forst choice discontinued, so I chose a Packrat. The nice lady said the order would go today. This is much faster than I expected, and I am tickled to death that Kershaw would honor a warranty on a knife I bought twelve years ago in another country!

I feel this a more than sweet payback for all the Kershaws I have bought over the years. I will happy to support Kai/Kerswhaw/Zero Tolerance as along as I buy knives!

Excellent news. Enjoy that Packrat....it's a great knife.

I got the Packrat plus a DWO today! It was really classy of Kershaw to add the DWO to make sure that my replacement had the exact value of the defective knife. I am very grateful to Kershaw for replacing a knife that bought 11 1/2 years ago in another country. To top it off, the knife Kershaw replaced was not a model sold in America! I was already a big Kershaw fan, but I am now certainly sold for life, and I will always have something good to say about them!

Definitely the kind of people I like to do business with! Tip of the hat to Kershaw.

Good deal - I am happy (and not surprised) that Kershaw took great care of you as a customer.

best regards -

No, it didn't not come with the story.

A portion of the sale price used to go to the family. Maybe still does. I don't think it was a significant amount, but it was more as a memorial thing
and to remind people to be safe hunters. Which, hasn't worked all that well, there have been at least 2 deaths in the last year or two in this area where
someone just shot at movement or what they thought was a bear.

Here is a page with more info:

The DWO story is a heart breaker for sure. It is scary that people with that kind of lack of control hunt.

But wacko's are out there among us daily...not paying attention...getting by on luck.

Glad to hear that Kershaw took care of you; I am not a bit surprised.

I always wondered where the Kershaw Cheetah series was sold, so, thanks, everyone! I have a King Cheetah, a Cheetah, and a Cheetah Cub that I bought off of ebay a few years back, they are mint, only fondled every once in a while. And yes, the Cheetah's are a matte stainless steel (so much heavier than the Wild Wild Turkey and Hawk), and of pinned construction instead of screwed together. The King Cheetah is the same size as the old Hawk, the Cheetah is the same size as the old Wild Wild Turkey, and the Cheetah Cub is about the size of a 1770 ODII, with no pocket clip. I will have to make some time to take good pictures of them sometime soon and post them here.

Great you're getting a new knife but I would be sad that something that's connected to my travels is gone. That's just me but I like to buy items (not tourist crap) when I travel and it reminds me of a particular country. I have a Swiss Army knife that I bought in Germany and even though I could get an exact copy it still wouldn't be the same. I would especially feel this way if the knife in question was only sold overseas.

Just me, I know many do not feel this way.
