Sounds like you need to be more careful with your knives. Or get a bk2 because they are difficult to break. I own several kershaw knives and they are all fantastic.

Yeah, all my Kershaws and ZT's did the same, as did my XM-18, all my Spyderco's, my Cold Steels, my Strider, all my Benchmades (hate that), all my Bokers, my Bussekins, my Lionsteel, my HEST/F (That was to be expected of course ), my Kabars and Leathermen (Leathermans?), CRKT's, man, they ALL suck!
If it wasn't for your stellar rep here I'd be inclined to disbelieve you, it can't be a coincidence.
Anyway. Get a United Cutlery. You'll never go back!

Great post. Great line.

Out of the many Kershaw knives I've owned over the years, I've only had a problem with 1, and that was an O so Sweet. I sent that into Kershaw and had a replacement in under 2 weeks. Kershaw makes awesome knives for an awesome price, and their customer service is one of the best. I think to come on here and bash them like that is wrong, and there are other ways you could have gotten ahold of their customer service.

I have to wonder if the OP is trolling. Sure looks like it. Kudos to the folks here for handling it so diplomatically.

I posted this in another threads last week:

I got out of the navy in '89, and began working various construction jobs while I figured out what I'd do with my future. I needed a knife, I wanted a lockback, and two different stores I talked to recommended the Kershaw #1060 Black Horse. Being familiar with the U.S. Schrade LB7 from my high school days, the Black Horse was similar in form & function: simple, rugged, inexpensive, and for my purposes, damn near indestructible. Kershaw took a good design and improved on it, IMO. From that time on, Kershaw has had my respect & they've been one of my favorite brands. I've recommended the brand to others a lot over the years, to the point of recommending the Kershaw Vapor model as a good knife for several Boy Scouts I know (I was asked which knife I liked best out of the Scout Store catalog.)

I've had at least eight Kershaw knives. I still have four of them, and I've had no complaints, really; neither has anyone I know.

I would love to see pics of how all your Kershaw knives have "failed bad". You know how to post a picture, because you have done it before here. I would also like a detailed description on how they broke.

I use knives extensively in the outdoors and have never broke a knife. I just don't understand how you can brake 5 of them, unless of course you were trying to.

Also you mention dropping a knife. Most knives will chip or even roll if you drop them on a hard surface. It doesn't mean the steel is crap, it means you need to be more careful.

If I buy a knife from {insert your company here} and it fails I will usually give them another try. Happens a 2nd time I'm done, yet, you bought 5?

OP is living up to his namesake if nothing else.

I liked the part where he said that Kershaw doesn't "honor their warrantys" on any of their knives. I find that pretty funny considering any time I've had a problem, however small, Kershaw's CS department has made sure to send me whatever parts I needed to replace and all the tools needed to install them (all on their dime, no less). I for one look forward to dealing with Kershaw and using Kershaw's products in the future.

I've had nothing but good experiences with Kershaw. The one time I sent a knife in for a minor issue, they sent a new knife of the same model and a Two-Can scissor/knife that I've found very handy as an extra as well!

wow... lol you people r like old women....lol I own a construction company... so i use my knives as needed while i work, there for the have dropped off of 25ft tall picks and yes 25feet down and my "junkyard dog" blew apart ... my salvo lol i was cutting 14/3 and the teeth ripped off...the zing snapped rite in half pulling out a wire staple... and this weekend chopping up branches i hit a knot and the blade snapped rite at the hilt and from the countless times dealing WITH KERSHAW DIRECT ON THEIR SITE I DONT HAVE TO EMAIL THEM ANY OTHER SITE WHERE THEY CAN AND SHOULD REPLY THEY DONT AND HAVENT YET... So in my opinion their knives suck, the designs are Great cant say anything about that... but they dont perform like they should and cause of that I sold my zero tolerance 0350cb ....I buy knives mostly american, european, and some from japan... thats y i had 5 kershaw knives 3 i bought 2 were gifts, i have over 100 knives buck, gerber, benchmade, spyderco, tops, lions steel, coldsteel... etc.. some of them failed but when i emailed the companies i had fast responces and the problem was fixed... i like well made things and they werent... Mt damascus what r u talking about htm knives? and if any one thinks i dont know how to use a knife please i will give you my address and you can come show me :) ... i dont talk smack on a computer thats not what i am about have a nice day

TimmyP, your original post was in the HTM forum. It is just above Kershaw in our forum list. You probably posted it there by accident. I moved it here.

I hope you do construction better than you do online communication.

Sorry did that by accident, i clicked the post thread button, must have been on that page
