Kershaw Knockout has arrived

Love the blade shape, sort of reminds me of my ZT-0551.

Sometimes I pocket the ZT-0301 when I'm just in the mood for a flipper, but it's really a bit too heavy. This might be a better choice for EDC.

I find the blade shape to be similar to the Benchmade Mini-Onslaught.

It is very light and easy to carry. The handle shape works well and it very thin in width.

I wouldn't mind seeing a version with a half-inch longer blade too.

Um.... does anyone else think that blade stop pin looks awfully tiny? The thumb-studs clearly aren't taking any of the force...

I thought it was going to be in alum. handle ?kind of bummed but still very nice.

Who has them in stock? Can someone PM me? I've looked around & keep seeing 11/30 as the release date.

I just got mine a little over a week ago. I won't deal spot or spam with links, so PM me for more info. I just checked the site again, and they don't say backorder or pre-order, so give it a try and good luck!

Edit 12/23 - I must report that the vendor I spoke of no longer shows them in stock. Sorry.

I'm kind of curious about the sub frame lock. The prototype had a different color sub frame, which I thought was kind of cool. Was that ever meant to go to production, or was it just a change before it went out?

I can't wait ether. I am a little disappointed the handle wont be aluminum. Does anybody think it will loose any strength because of it ? G10 is great but I was looking forward to aluminum.
NOpe, not at all. Aluminum is typically a material that shows wear and scratches very easily. This is espeecially true with type II hard anodization. The knife will be strong enough with G10, unless of course someone uses their folders to pry the beds off of dump trucks. You will more than likqely destroy the knife before it failed. Mr. Noodle and kawr nailed it.

I agree in general, I like G10 better... although I had a Harsey Airframe that seemed to be powdercoated, it took everything I threw at it for years without a visible scratch.

My only reservation, in conjunction with the G10, is (ahem) that blade stop pin. G10 does have some real advantages, but it's not as rigid as aluminum, will flex and deform more easily, and the ends of that pin are... not large, not very close to other reinforcing fasteners, pretty close to the edge of the G10, and that pin is the ONLY thing taking all downward forces on the edge. Hopefully it's a complete non-issue, but I'm a little surprised it didn't change with the handle material.

We'll see. I love the general design.

Wow same sentiments! thats the bad thing about getting a sneek peek at protos ,they're almost always better looking than the production, but it's still decent just not near as interesting to me,there is enough black g10 knives on the planet to last a while.

Unfortunately pics can be deceiving. In person you can't even compare proto fit and finish vs. production. Not even close to the same level.
