Does anyone have any reviews of the folder?

There is a new Kershaw Lahar Folding Knife with VG-10 stainless-steel blade and
Textured black G-10 Blade Length: 3 1/2 in. (8.9 cm) Closed Length: 4 7/8 in. (12.3 cm) Overall Length: N/A Weight: 5.5 oz. FEATURES: • Thumb Stud • Pocket Clip

I have one in my pocket right now. :)

I bought it on impulse, but its turned out one of my favorite factory knifes now, and it was under a hundred dollars. Fit and finish are excellent. The g-10 is just the way I like it, grippy without being too rough. It has a solid backspacer, which I figure is also g-10 but I don't really know. That makes for more comfort in use. Ergos are great; I have larger hands (I like the Rukus and Skirmish for example) and it fits my hands extremely well. The flipper works perfectly and proves excellent protection against sliding up on the blade when the knife is open.

The vg-10 is a great all around steel, especially if, like me, you are cutting apples and cheese and rope more than deer and tent stakes. VG-10 is the cutting edge in my beloved Shun knives, after all. It takes a very fine edge and holds it well, though not as long as s30v, as I compare it to my other knives. Its marked "Japan VG-10" on the blade.

Its a liner lock, the angle on mine is ground properly, engages well, and held up totally fine during standard lock strength testing.

So there you go. I definitely recommend it as a well made, comfortable knife with good materials and design. Its great for all around use, and, for those who care, the design fits well with defensive use. Comparing price to what you get, its an excellent value.

Thanks, I'm going buy the Lahar this week.

kneedeep those pictures really help making a decision and I think you should do the adds for Kershaw great pictures you sold me!

DRider that was a perfect review because I have big hands myself. Your right about the g10 finish was just right and nicely done, which shows in kneedeeps pictures.

The one I handled was put together very well, I found no flaws, the flipper worked excellent and the lock up was solid.

Also have a Skirmish, I think is one of the best folders out there, haven't bought a Rukus yet.

I hadn't seen this post, but I just picked one up on impulse because I was so amazed at the quality for the buck$... Easily as good as the Japan Al Mars that sell for $180 and up. There is a lot of hand finishing work to the handle and blade that just isn't there on most USA Kershaws. The VG-10 is also a favorite of mine... The Al Mars have identical textured G10 and most also use the Vg-10. Anyway.... REALLY tough to beat this value at under $100.

+1 on the Lahar. I got one today. Don't tell Kershaw, but I would expect this knife to cost more than it does. Lock up is solid, with no play. The liner on mine hits exactly where it should with plenty of room for wear.

The pocket clip does cover the pivot when it is in tip down configuration. A hole in the clip to access the pivot would be nice, but thats just being nitpicky.
