Kershaw Leek CPM-D2 or Spyderco Endura?

I just want some thoughts on the composite rake leek and jyd2

I don't even know what's up with the fighting

I really like the CB jyd but the clip is what's keeping me from getting it

I know exactly what you mean, but as a KO fan, I guess I'm not allowed to complain. But that, plus my relatively recent aversion to plain g10 scales, kept me away and I bought a titanium Tyrade instead.

That said, if you love the knife but hate the clip, consider spending $30 on one of STR's custom titanium clips.

The jyd cb is an awesome knife. I actually like the clip and it's looks. But I don't care if anyone sees a clip or
Knife hanging from my pocket most of the time. If i did not want a knife seen I'll wear another style that doesn't clip to my pocket at all. I carry a lot more then A knife concealed. I make sure I have a lot of options available to me. If you don't like the jyd clip I would look at the rake if you don't mind the assist which I think is sweet. I have several now and they all preform flawlessly including the rake and Tyrade . So do my smith and colt knives which i have edc for over 5 yes without a failure. I have also seen people who make different clips, etc so I'm sure you could have a different clip made for it if that's the only thing stopping you. I wouldnt hesitate to buy kershaw or zt with one and I would actually prefer a clip like that on my 0350cb. But that's me. I'm actually Thinking about getting another jyd with the standard blade I like the style and feel of the knife so much. You could also buy a factory second and I'm sure if you diidnt like the clip you'd be able
To sell it for close to what you paid or trade or something else.

Pete1977,

I've gotten a few of my Kershaw AO knives dirty and the locks still worked perfectly. I've also had the lock of my Native (Golden, S30V) not engage because of pocket lint. The two Kershaws (a Leek and a Shallot) might've eventually stopped opening completely if I didn't clean them (and Knifenut1013 stripped the Shallot down and made it much cleaner after that), but the important parts were the locks locked and the blades cut.

The Native was right as rain, too, after a few seconds with a cotton swab and now it doesn't get carried in the bottom of a pocket anymore.

To the original poster,

You can't go wrong with either choice. CPM-D2 and VG-10 are both great and so are Leeks and Enduras. Flip a quarter or buy both.

I should have written something like this it seems.
orchunter and Pete, my apologies. I didn't intend to insult anyone just sounded kind of derogatory from my point of view. Carry on.

Yanno Cliff...i mean Dennis if you have an issue with Kershaw HT or edge retention then why don't you start a new thread with actual evidence rather than "my friends and I don't like this" etc. and dragging the thread away from the original topic to your own issues with perceived KAI inadequacies.

Trolling is trolling regardless of how eloquently it was put forward.

Well said.

And to the OP the traditional BF answer is buy them both.:D

You know you will eventually. ;)

I agree. BUT.... I bought one anyway. Man alive, am I glad I did. This knife is an excellent tool, and while I still don't like the clip, I rarely think about it. I do think about how well this thing cuts, how great the blade geometry is, and yes... how well the D2 steel performs. *gasp* ( I am hoping I am not called out for a blade cutting competition by an angry man with no caps key!)

I got some great advice here on BF before I bought mine. Buy one, then if you can't stand the clip, buzz down those horns on the side of the clip with your Dremel. I was going to do that myself, but then after carrying and using it for a while, that oddball looking gizmo clip just didn't bother me anymore.

First, I agree with your assessment of this silly trolling, childish baiting and bitching business. It has gone on wayyyy too long. Ruined most of a pretty good thread.

But I also like your idea of STR's low rider clips. I have seen them mounted, and they look great. To me, the knife performs so well I have no problem overlooking that clip at this point, though. I think of it now as kind of a BATMAN looking thing. :D

this is my idea for modifying the clip of the CB jydII

I don't care if they see the clip I just think the old one is a litte ugly so I will mod it or just leave it alone

I still may get the rake but I like that the jyd is cheaper and it looks like the metals or different greys so that's cool
