I had seen this and had to check it out. Purchased over the internet. Be careful this Christmas as it is identical looking to the leek. Frame lock etc.
Not avertised as Kershaw Leek and is 440 Stainless. Side by side with my Leek 1660DAM

Wow. That's awfully close in appearance. The only thing that jumps out is the lack of reversible clip. Is it assisted opening?

You shouldn't have given a dime of your money to those Chinese ripoff artists:grumpy: Even if you just got it to "check it out", those jerks have now made a profit from stealing Kershaw and Ken Onion's patented work.

Never buy a knockoff, please:(

Yes it is assisted opening and with shipping it cost $5.29. Made in China. If it will make you happy Jonny I will snap off the blade and throw it away. :D
I don't make it a habit of buying knockoffs as this is the first. I know that
R & D cost money and we should support those that put forth their tallent into making a product that will stand up. Those that copy others work, for a profit, are getting a free ride on initial investments etc. I have 6 Kershaws alone. I did not mention where to get it as I also don't promote duing business with these people. I felt that others and Kershaw should be aware of whats out there. Nuff said !

rp, you live in the country? The reason I ask is that 25 lbs of ammonium nitrate and 5 gallons of kerosene, and you've got the makings for a great YouTube vid!

Don't break it, blow it up! :D

DISCLAIMER: If you have never used NH4NO3 and fuel oil for removing large rocks, tree stumps, etc., please don't try this! And expect a visit from the closest offices of the ATF, FBI, etc. if you do!:eek:

The best thing to do would probably be to shoot an email to Thomas with a link to the place you purchased it.

This is probably not right either but the more I read and hear about how many companies in China have a complete and total disregard for others intellectual property, and quite frankly their health, the less and less I am willing to knowingly purchase goods made in China.

Probably doesn't help that the owner of a business I worked for would knowing rip off other peoples designs of household decorative items and then have their production outsourced and then sell them to high volume retail stores. He was once asked, point blank, by an antiques dealer, "You are not going to reproduce the design, are you?" His reply was, "who could ever replicate such a beautiful ------." And, of course, he would then start making copies.:foot:

This man, and his family, reinforced in me an important lesson I should have never discounted. If someone will lie and cheat his enemies, he will lie and cheat his 'friends' just as easily.

Absolutely. Don't think for a second that all those Chinese fakes you hear about are for the export market only. In some cases, people abroad are paying as much for these cheap copies as they would for the genuine article! I think there must be a special place for these people in the ninth circle, right next to the noisy icemaker.

I saw some Leek ripoffs at a gun and knife show a few years back. They had the same general outline, but were not as sleek or detailed as yours. When the peddler had the nerve to ask me if I was interested in some cheap knives, I felt like showing him what a real Leek looked like, but I figured it was better not to whip a knife out of my pocket in anger. Some people will just jump to conclusions, you know. :D

The words 'cheap' and 'knife' don't go well together for me. Same with guns or basically anything that is going to hurt me if it the 'cheapness' gets in the way of safety. I don't mind inexpensive mind you, but cheap is not for me. I had a Heritage Stealth 9mm, looks a lot like the new Wilson polymer compact pistol, it could fire with the 'safety' engaged. I 'sold' it (read got zero money for it) to a dealer to have it disposed of.

Hows the quality?

it's surgical grade.

i ran into some Leek knockoffs at Raleigh's gun show a few weekends ago. There is absolutely no comparison - the $10 chinese knockoffs just feel/look/work like crap. At that price, they're overpriced, and that's saying something.
