Just got this in the mail today from Amazon. Want to get your opinions on what you think of this lock up. Seems early to me, but i'm not as eduacted as most on here so let me know what you think. Dangerously early? Or fine? Thanks.

Can you push it over for more lockup? It almost looks like the blade is not completely open.

With my Kershaw Leek it is really easy (alarmingly so, to be honest) to push the lock over to the other scale if gripped tightly. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Besides, the Leek ain't exactly a hard-use knife. :)

It MAY improve with use as it wears in. If not, IMHO it's not locking up enough to even be safe. Of course no lock blade is "safe" if pushed to extremes. But most are ok if used for their intended purpose. You might try adjusting the pivots to see if you can get a better lockup.

Does it lock up solid? Any blade play?

I'll admit that it does look early but I've owned several leeks with early lockup like yours and have never had a problem.

It's completely opened in the picture. That's exactly how it locks up every time.

Yea I can push it over for more lock up, but then it sticks which makes it very difficult to disengage and can lead to over extending the frame lock.

I did do this a few times being very careful when disengaging it in hopes that it may start to lock up more. Still seems to lock up early though.

Yea that I can't complain about. It does have a very solid lock up. No blade play up/down or side/side. So it does feel secure and like someone else said it's not necessarily a hard use knife. Although it did seem super early to me.

Just wanted to get some openions because it's super easy to get an exchange with Amazon so was debating on doing that or just keeping it.

All I can say is that ONLY YOU can decide how comfortable you are with that amount of lockup. If it's pretty easy to get an exchange, you might wanna go that route. I'm not sure how strongly you feel about it, ya know? If you think it's going to be constantly nagging in the back of your mind, and you're not going to feel completely confident in that Leek, then you know what to do. Best of luck, man!
