Seeing how there was a couple of knives Kershaw released in M390 I would like to see the leek in M390 as well. For me the Kershaw Leek was the knife that got me collecting knives. I have a lot more expensive knives in my collection but something about the leek that just always makes me like it. I would really like to see the leek updated regularly with new high end steels.

Well this is my leek collection. I would really like to add more.
Top to bottom I have zdp-189, Elmax, CPM-D2, D2, S30v, CPM-154,14c28n

I really like the leek. I would carry it a lot more often if it weren't for the clip configuration. I really like the standard leek with stainless handle and frame lock.

Great Leek collection.

Thanks! Most of them are frankenleeks. I tried to piece them together to my liking

I do agree that I don't like the stock pocket clip. I have changed most of mine out to deep carry tip up. I'm a steel junkie so the one with better steel usually ends up in my pocket. The zdp one has gotten quite a bit of use. It's the one I've had the longest.

I get knocked down all the time for "assisted" knives. I have a Link in M390. Love this knife. I can care less that its assisted. Actually, assisted in flippers I like. I love my ZT on ball bearings too. But this knife deploys just as nice and so far, just as reliable.

Whats that sort of reverse tanto /clip point variation Leek?

Leek in M390? I'd be up for that, my CF cpm154 Leek gets used often. Any details on the Elmax version, never knew it existed. ;)

Leek was actually my first "High end" knife and got me collecting. still have it and use it around the house the clip is missing and it resides in the kitchen. Wife mostly uses it for opening packages of coffee and what not. I need to get a couple in the better steels.

I’d buy one in a heartbeat. The Leek is in my top 5 of all time favorite edc knives for sure.

Like several others, the Leek was my first ever "expensive" knife and started this addiction, thanks KAI. lol

I carried one for several years before upgrading to some more expensive folders. I still have that leek and still carry it occasionally.

I've been meaning to pick up the cf model and would for sure buy a M390 Leek.

I had a nice Scallion that a friend gave me and that is what led me to the Leek - a great knife indeed!

I normally wind up giving Leeks away when someone asks me about my knife when I am carrying one.

For those that love Leeks I suggest you try the Dividend, a 2017 release and very similar, and available in at least one iteration with M380.

An M390 Leek would be awesome as well - and nice collection and pictures, MMG.

best

My leeks are the only assisted knives I own. I generally prefer non assisted knives. I tried removing the spring and they just didn't feel right. After about a week I put all the springs back in.

My EDC, I've never used the clip. This lanyard keeps it vertical and very EZ to deploy.

I actually got really lucky with that knife. When I got it it was actually the reverse tanto version with the serrated teeth. I used it so much the stop pin came loose. I sent it in for warranty work and got back that blade in the knife. I actually prefer no serration so that worked out. I've done some research and I think that blade comes from a 1660TG10. It's the only knife I can find with a S30v blade with no serration and PVD coated. The Kershaw logo is the only markings on the blade.

I almost missed out on the elmax version. There were actually 2 different ones available. One with a coated blade like mine and one with no coating. I'm not sure on the quantity produced but the non coated one sold out first. I looked for one near retail price but no luck so I settled on the coated version.

I'm with notwen, I never knew there was an Elmax Leek out there! Now I really, really want one haha. Elmax is a tough steel to beat in my book(though I think M390 does just that). Pretty jealous of your collection.

It was known as the Random Leek. I remember a G-10 handled one in S-30V and steel handled ones in 14C28N. That was years ago though, and you should probably trust my fuzzy memory less than I do.

LOL I just googled it, it was a sort of hybrid of the Leek and the Random Task. I bet it was literally a frankenknife :D

Different blade, at least in some respects. I never had the Random Leek, but I played with a Random Task as part of a passaround. I loved the blade, but hated the knife. The main difference is that the Random Task didn't have the flipper. The Task had tiny, pointy thumbstubs that were below handle level, and it was difficult and eventually painful to try to open. Terrible design. I never liked flipper-less assisted knives anyway, as it was always a good way to cut your thumb accidentally. I did love the blade though. Thin edge and tip due to the hollow grind made for a great slicer and detail cutter.

I used the random leek as my work knife for about a year before the thumb stud/stop pin came loose. I really did like the random blade shape over the regular one. The tip for one was not as fragile. The slight belly was a plus too.

If I had my choice of materials for a leek I would like Ti/CF random blade in M390.

Is that Blue stainless steel Composite Leek something you did yourself or is that an actual release?
