Kershaw Mini Cyclone 1636TIZDP

. I rarely if ever have enough information about another human being to be able to judge them, we never know the whole story, a little grace goes a long way.

In NYC, all the information you need is whether or not they're walking or driving faster or slower than you. Then you can judge them all day long as an idiot who needs to move the hell over! :D

I agree with this quote, and yet, its presence indicates that you feel that you can judge me based on a single flippant remark that, while a bit excessively derogatory, really tells you nothing of my true character, nor anything definitive about me. A judgement based off of that, or even off of a good number of internet forum comments, it seems, wouldn't be based upon much.

We judge people all of the time, for a variety of different reasons, and while the best that we can hope to do is live our lives with some semblance of respect for ourselves and our fellow man, even the kindest, gentlest, most intelligent, mot attractive, and most creative man or woman is certain to be judged, erroneously or not, by his peers, an often even more harshly by those who strive for his level of success.

I certainly didn't intend to cause such a backlash, and my comment was unwarranted, mainly because it was misdirected, as I was actually irritated by a similar, but unrelated incident.

At the same time, however, that knife is still sitting there at $525 + $25 shipping. People left and right are saying they have seen them or been offered the same knife in the $300's, and others are saying they would scoop them up i a heartbeat at that price. You don't see anyone saying they would jump all over it at $550, though. Truth is, if I saw one in the $300-$350 range, and I had the disposable cash on hand, I would probably scoop it up, too. It is true that what someone is willing to pay for an item essentially drives the price, and its relative rarity makes it worth more than the MSRP. At the same time, I have an Al Mar Sere Operator that I made some custom super comfortable hidden storage compartment canvas micarta grips for. Its one of a kind, but if I put it up on ebay for $3000.00, I doubt I'm going to have bidders jumping all over it. The market also drives the price, so if someone knows that in time they can find the same knife for $350, only a desperate desire to have the knife immediately would cause them to pay $550 right now. I did not intend to offend anyone's sensibilities by indicating that $550 was too much or that the seller didn't deserve to get whatever amount he could for his knife. All that I was trying to convey is that I, personally, am of the opinion that, especially with semi-rare production knives, ebay sellers have a tendency to try to raise the prices to astronomical levels, often to their detriment, as their items dont sell. In this case, I was only referring to the fact that I have had Ti Mini Cyclone's offered to me for $285-$340, and have seen them sell in the $285-$385 range, as well as the fact that a number of subjectively more valuable knives continually sell for less. I bought my non-blem NIB Volt 3600 for $385 just 2 months ago. I could never justify paying over $170 more for a Ti Mini Cyclone, but it is clear that is only my opinion, and one that a number of folks disagree with.

I hope this gentleman does sell his knife for a couple of reasons. It will certainly make him a profit, and there's no doubt that someone paying that price for it is someone who really wants it. From the certainty of the comments in this thread, I figured it would have been sold by now, but I'll keep an eye on it.

First of all I was not judging you, just took offense to your statements. Sincerely Sorry if you felt judged. Your statement above is very accurate and well stated, but can you imagine a world where we wouldn't do that and we made the decision to offer grace instead.

I was about to get all excited lol. But I have two 1635, both PE, (one NIB and the other one my EDC for about a year)
