Maybe I got a lemon, but I had to remove the sacales to tighten, and the clip has needed retightining 3 times. I love the blade on this knife.. but its to artsy fartsy ive found to be durable. Why should you have to take apart a brand new knife?

So.. Im getting the Spyderco Persian... vg 10 blade, 2 16/17 inch blade to confrorm to the knife law in my City. The kersahw Knakmura sold me on vg 10.. seems to sharpen easyish.

Sorry I have to buy yet another knife.. but Im looking for quality and durability.I dont use knives heavliy, but always have one on me. And this is the first time kershaw has dissapointed me. Love the Leek down to the Chive... but the clip on the Nakamura is just too weak.. Should have expanded the top to accomdate 2 side by side screws.. instead of the inline screw.. thin attaching section. Too bad I really liked that knife and was hoping my $102 would by me a knife for life.

Ya.. that would probably work. Thought about it. But why have to do this on a Brand New Knife? Ive owned many kifes in my lifetime and my first knife from 25 years ago is still solid.. except ive chipped the blade and it has no clip.. i chipped the scales after having it 10 years in my pocket .. by leaving it in a pocket while drying. That knife lasted through 10 years of abuse. No attention required.

Well, it's annoying, but such a simple and fixable problem....certainly doesn't call for a complete replacement. I've had significantly more expensive knives with much less fixable problems...in the grand scheme of things, not a big deal. Annoying though, I agree. Benchmade balis should be shipped with loctite too....going to have to loctite up my morpho latch soon.

I got a Nakamura about a year and a half ago and have had (0) Problems except I cut my left thumb SO bad I needed 7 stitches. The knife is one of my favorite EDC rotation knives. I have done periodic checks of the scales and clip as I do with all my knives. But it has never needed work. I havn't even sharpened it and it DOES get used. Like you said "Lemon". Maybe a trip back to Kershaw with a note and they can tune it up to it's real potential. Try (warrantyinfo@kershawknives.com)

hey man snit happens-use some silicone on the threads if you dont have locktight-

also might want to look at the benchmade 440-opportunist-
no clip but a heck of a gents edc

I haven't had any problems with my Nakamura. Maybe it had a defect from the factory. You could send it back to Kershaw if you feel the manufacturer should make it right and you don't think you should have to fix the problem yourself.

I would send it back because if you fiddle with it and make it worse your up snits creek. You get a new knife too! Bring it back to where you bought it so you dont have to pay shipping id suppose

Well, that sucks. I'd just get some Loc-Tite and take care of the screw problem, unless, your using this as an excuse to get a new knife. :D Not that that's a bad thing...

As recommended, send it back to Kershaw.

The clip is just one of those things you have to live with on some gentleman's type folders. Sometimes they are made more for style than sheer strength, especially on that genre of folder known as "Gent's Folders".

I hope it can be fixed to your satisfaction. It really is a great knife, IMO, and I love to carry it in places where my Rukus or Military just wouldn't do. ;)
