Kershaw/OCC

S30V would make the most sense in what sense? The Sandvik steels are great performers. S30V is expensive and difficult to work. Good stuff for a hard-working knife, and I do have the S30V/G-10 Leek, but for dress, maybe not. Kershaw is trying to develop a relationship here, too, and starting out with any higher prices than necessary might be counterproductive.
 
I'd have to agree with Esav, 13C26 is an excellent quality steel that will help keep the knives priced reasonably. Don't forget, OCC fans won't necessarily be knife nuts, few would understand why they would be paying an extra 20 to 40 bucks for S30V.

This will be a great opportunity to get some high quality knives into the hands of many people who might otherwise be unlikely to invest in them.

It would be nice to see the boys at OCC using these instead of razor knifes around their shop!
 
Well Thomas, while I've never been bitten by the Leek bug, you've got me now! That is beautiful!

I will email NGK tomorrow, and get my name on the list for the first batch!

Kershaw should get OCC to do a custom Kershaw Chopper.
Maybe get K.O. Or Tim to collaborate on it. Imagine all the design elements they could work into it.

It'd be some pretty amazing exposure for Kershaw and Kai.
