Kershaw OD-1

Just got my OD-1 today. Smooth as glass, as previously posted, and easy to open (if you keep your hands off the lockbar). Problem I have is the flipper itself is loose - rattles around a bit. Is this common or did I pick up a dud?

It's the design of the flipper. It does feel a little"wiggly" when the knife is closed.

the OD-1s i tried at wallyworld were not hard to flip at all. the locks however made me too nervous to purchase one(the three i checked out anyway). i know it's normal for a framelock to move more across the tang as you squeeze the knife in use, but all of the ones i handled would also move toward the back of the handle as well with a fairly light squeeze. i haven't given up on finding one that i trust though, as i really liked knife.

I got one last weekend and I love it. I have yet to have a problem with my flipper. I prefer to use the fleshy part between the 2 joints of my index finger to push the flipper down. I feel in that grip the rest of my fingers are positioned in a way that there's less of a chance of pressing down on the frame lock.

On another note, does anyone know what the 2 holes drilled in the g10 are for? I notice in pictures that some have it and some don't. It's right by where the clip holes are on the other side. Did they intend to make this knife left and right hand clipable? The screws provided aren't long enough to go past the g10 thats for sure. It also looks like the screw holes below the g10 are filled with something that I was able to push out fairly easily.

Yes. You can contact Kershaw and they'll send you the correct size
screws for lefty carry.

i tried several kershaws at walmart the other night, includung the od1. if there is absolutely no pressure on the lock, its pretty slick. but it only take a hair of pressure in the wrond spot to jam it up completely. i ended up getting the skyline...super light and wicked sharp. both knives are awesome fo sho.

i havent been able tp put my od1 down since i got it. just really cool knife. i like it even more than the g10 tyrade.

I received my $35.00 OD-1 yesterday and I really like it. It flips open nice. Just a soft pull on the little tab on the end it it flips out. I am Kershaw Krazy.

Alright, someone needs to take a video of this OD in action.

I'd like to see with no wrist motion just how well the flipper works.

After reading this thread, I realized I had one od-1 that had the holes in the g10 for lefty carry, and one that doesn't. Can anyone tell me why that is?
