I recently picked up a Kershaw OD-1. I was drawn in by the low price tag, the clean lines, its domestic origin, and the novelty of the flipper. It has turned out to be a fun blade. It's great for office life where it opens junk mail and the occasional paycheck, slices bagels and apples, and helps out less fortunate coworkers who attempt to open packages with keys and scissors. The flipper works wonderfully once the finger has adjusted to the knurling of the flipper button. I recommend it to anyone who wants a good clean looking utility blade with the added entertainment of the flipper.

Pros:
  • Price
  • USA made
  • Super sharp out of the box
  • Good quality construction
  • Flipper works as good or better than an auto (after break in)
  • Nice G-10 texture on one side, smooth and pocket friendly on the other

Cons:
  • Frame lock engagement is weak, lock bar moves all the way to the opposite liner if much pressure is applied in cutting
  • Break in period - mine took two days to loosen up
  • QC - Clip screw came stripped from the factory
  • Clip placement

Strange, I didnt notice initially but when I switched the clip I found that one screw head was stripped out as well. Easily replaced I guess.
+1 on the knife in use so far.
