I bought a Kershaw splash offset from a dealer. He asked me if I wanted the lowest serial number, I said yes. The one I recievd has no number at all. Does anyone know what this is?

i thought they were all coated? they were available in a gray coating which didn't look coated though...

I guess, I have both and thought that gray finish was a result of MIM.

interesting hypothesis...maybe thomas w can chime in. mine looks like it came new with some small scuffs on it revealing the steel underneath though...

I got a paintsplattered black blade kershaw offset with no number also it's dated jun of 06. the feel of it they way it deploys i own alot of kershaws with highend steels if this is a fake it's too good to be one because it's a heavy knive a massive one all the correct markings are on it, ken onion's name is molded on. 1597 made in the usa, with mim44c with patent pending molded above mim. the word kershaw molded on the front side and Mite molded also just like all the offsets ive seen there's just no serial number there's no blade play, studlock is good the knife feels like a tank! I'm telling you this cant be a fake
