Kershaw OSO Sweet Problem

My friend just got a Kershaw OSO Sweet and it is very stiff. Is it something that will break in overtime or is it broken?

P.S. A cheap Kershaw (I think Hotwire) I got a Walmart (it was only $10) has the same issue.

I have the same recurring problem with mine. I Kershaw sent me a new spring, but that isn't the problem. I tried loosening the pivot, but the head just spins in the scale.

I think it is either mis-assembled, or the knife is unusually sensitive to a lack of lube.

Flush the joint with WD40 and put a spot of mineral oil on the pivot. That fixed it for me, but it needs to be repeated fairly often. It was cheap, but it is not one of Kershaw's masterpieces.

I've got 2 of them, and absolutely no stiffness with either of mine.
