I just received the Outcast in a trade. Man, that is one awesome cutter.

It even carved up some awesome fuzz sticks

I tried some drilling. It wasn't the best but it could do it.

the outcast looks like an awsome chopper. i would be concerned that my hands might not fit the handle very well. that is the only reason i dont yet own one.

Thanks BF1992,

The handle is plenty long for even big hands but towards the back where the pinky grabs is a bit thin. All in all a very comfy handle.

For $70 it is hard to beat. I can't imagine a 10" 3/16ths blade that could out perform it, at any price.

Very nice chopper beater for the price. I'd hate to have to resharpen such large blade in D2 tool steel though...

Thanks for sharing these nice photos.

Cheers

and to think that poor knife hung in my knife cabinet for several years unused...:(
I bet it is much happier now! ;)
is that hazel brush wood?
good hard stuff if it is, and the blade ate it up :D
glad ya are enjoying the knife!!
be safe... Ted

Ted, That was a good trade. Thanks, How do you like the nessie?

I am not sure what kind of wood it is. It was being tossed in a yard waste pile. I grabbed for test cutting. The outcast has found a good home. He will have to work though.:D

the nessie is a nice knife but it just doesn't fit my hand right. The balance doesn't suit me some how.
I may sell it or maybe another trade ;)

thanks again for a smooth deal!

Sorry to hear that.

You should have no problem moving it. I think that is one of the fun perks being on BF. I have been trading since 99. Gotten some good ones and not so good ones but they keep moving and checking out new knives and styles.

I wasn't crazy about the scandi grind, it is not my preferred grind. But I had to check it out to know.

Thanks

I did a review of mine alongside my Blackjack Panga. My only complaint was the handle which I ripped off and have yet to replace.

Both blades side by side

Nice picts, ilbruche.

Do you have any picts of the outcast sans handle. I'd love to see it.

the outcast was one of the first choppers i got,

the handle was a tad small for my liking but nothing a little paracord couldnt fix.

psy congrats on the nice score.

Thanks, that handle looks a bit anorexic but it would last just fine. I won't send it to Noss for testing, though.

nice looking knife...

one of these days i will probably get around to trying one out, but for the moment i am pretty happy with the CS LTC for a thinner recurve chopper.

I have been wanting one. but maybe kershaw might see this and make the end of the handle thicker/fatter so your hand has something to keep it from flyin through the air when you slip. Pat

There is no way this thing is flying out of your hand. The curve down the handle acts pretty much like a parrot beak and the spongy santoprene handle is really grippy.

I have a martindale golok which has a parrot beak and the Kershaw is more grippy. It also out cuts the golok which is longer.

Siguy, Yeah, the LTC is awesome. I will get one of those soon enough.
