Kershaw Piston/ Knockout

I really hate that they changed the Knockout to aluminum. I was so in love with that knife, & now, sorry, but no thanks. Aluminum has no traction, its slick. I've never held an aluminum handled knife that I would buy. I thought i had found a site that still had the g-10 version, but I was wrong. I hope theychangeitback, or make a sprint run in g-10 or something, the I will be happy to buy 2 or 3 Knockouts.

Exactly my thoughts. This is a lot of a tactical type folder with a swedge, why would they make it with aluminum? I don't get it. Ok, it is more rigid, but G10 is a great handle material.

I hope to see some colour variations to the aluminum handld and perhaps some different steel choices for the Knockout. I love the design and got to hold one of the g10 models and it was sweet, perhaps it is my favorite designed Kershaw knife. However, recently I've become a full fledged steel-snob and 14C28N doesn't really hold a candle to the Elmax, M4 and M390 steels I like to use for EDC. Any thing new in the works for the Knockout?

I have an aluminum knockout landing tomorrow.

I'll get some pics up then.

ETA: found this vid too, it's to blame for me ordering one.

Still beating that g-10 drum? ;)

I have been wanting to get a Knockout but everywhere I see them in stock says they are G10 and I want the aluminum version. I know it was mentioned earlier that some websites are slow to update the description but I don't want to risk it. I will have to make some phone calls tomorrow.

Has anyone ordered one recently and got the aluminum? If so would you care to share with me where from?

I bought mine from Kershaw Guy. You can always shoot him an email to check his inventory.

Anybody that has them listed as in stock now will have aluminum handled knives regardless of what their website says. Nobody had them in stock so the G10 models are long gone and everybody has the aluminums now.

Awesome thanks for the info!

If for some unknown reason, mine comes in with G-10, I will gladly trade someone for their aluminum model.

Frankly, I'm tired of G-10. I want some heft.

Oh No!!

There's no jimping! How on Earth will nutnfancy be able to give this knife a good review if it can't be a 'tactical' blade.

Mine's in G10 and I really like it a lot, but then this was when it first came out (Thomas says this was the first one off the line, won it in a contest last year that he hosted here) :)

Heft is not the word that comes to mind when referencing the Knockout. It's not a heavy knife by any measure and it's rather light for its size. In fact, it's damn light for it's size. It is a solid feeling blade. But certainly not "hefty". Regardless, you'll love it.

Here's a quick pic because I'm at the park right now.

The profile of this knife reminds me of the 0551. It is however much thinner overall and the blade grind is super thin. This one is a slicer.

I really like feel of the aluminum. The AO is fast too.
