Once again, for the life of me, I can't see how these got discontinued! I just picked up another plain edge, this one with 14c28n steel. I will likely buy one more. I used to think that the Spyderco Native was my all time favorite design, but now I feel that way about the RAM. I could have a RAM as my only mid to large size folding knife, and I would never miss a beat.

The newer models have a thumb ramp on the lock...when did they discontinue this knife?

Was just disco'd beginning of 2012. Was really sad to see this one go...

Oh ok thanks Lynda...Then i should have some time before i must buy another to keep put away..I should get mine 1st one next week.Can't wait if I like it as much as you guys i'll start looking for a red one right away i suppose :thumbup:

Got it today. Have no idea what makes this knife a blem as its perfect and sharp as hell. I already managed to fillet my middle finger reaching to grab it after I set it down open(stupid I know). Anyway this will be a great lil knife the beat on.

Out of all of my folders, for some reason I grabbed my trusty DLC RAM tonight to cut up some beer boxes. I was pleasantly surprised with the edge retention, after making about forty cuts of cardboard, it still managed to slice telephone book paper (albeit not too cleanly). I love how thin the hollow grind is on the RAM! Plus the DLC coating looks super cool once it starts wearing.
