Just trying to learn the history of the knife and what it would be worth in this condition. Iv seen them on eBay for almost 300 $ so I was wondering if I got a deal at 25$ lol

Looks just like my Kershaw Whirlwind, but in a different color (green vs black handle) and with the logo on the blade. Think there's also a black blade version called the Blackout? Maybe yours is a signature series of the Whirlwind? Can't offer anymore than that, good luck!

That is a hell of a knife for $25. The normal production model (Whirlwind) runs around $50 new. As for the collector's value for that specific edition, the eBay price seems to be ludicrous. The knife doesn't appear to be a very limited or rare model, and seems to have a limited collector's market. For a used one, I would count it as a great price on a Whirlwind.

You are correct. This 1560 series is a sister to the whirlwind 1560 (black handle uncoated blade) and the blackout 1550 (black handle black dlc coated blade). The green handled model is called the blizzard 1540 ( green handle, satin blade). There was also a 1560RMEF camo handled whirlwind that had the RMEF etching on it just the same as the OP's.

The blizzard seems to be the more rare variant of the three and was disco'd a while back. I wouldn't call it rare though. You can still get both the blackout and the whirlwind which is now offered in black wash and stonewashed finishes. For awhile there and it may still be, the 1560 series was the best selling kershaw of all time.

For $25 I'd say you got a good EDC knife.
