Had fun this year, not nearly as many as past years but I'm ok with it. Had a few people in line cause some issues but Kershaw made it right. Totally worth the 5 hour drive and having to spend the night on the sidewalk.
I bought a display case as well, apperently only two in existence.

Here's the knives

Ha! Most excellent! I can picture you wrangling the case from the store after buying out all their knives! LOL

You need to post the display case in the current thread, "how do you store/display your knives?"

They were nice enough too help me out!

Nice haul! I joked with my son about needing one of the display cases :)

Excellent choice of display case. That is the one that I would have picked. Congratulations. Beautiful. Glad it went to a good home. One like it was there Sunday @ 1:00 PM for $50 as I remember. Didn't have room in the apartment...

Sweet haul indeed. Now you need one of these to sit on top. [emoji41]

Nice haul...but camping out on the sidewalk? What kind of discount were they offering?

There's a very very good reason to camp overnight besides waiting hours in line... Also, I was the only one to get any zts and the deals are insane.

So am I correct that you did not buy the case Sunday just before the 2:00 pm close and there is one left there then?

Of course. I've been a fan of your photography from the jump. It appears that we have similar taste in cutlery. I will PM you, and or you me, next year B4 the event. Also, I plan to attend the OKCA annual meet in April in Eugene that everyone should attend. It is world class. Dennis, who I had a productive conversation with today, puts on a masterful show that isn't to be missed.

I will visit the factory, just a hop down the road as I live in Tualatin now, and inquire about the 2nd display so it isn't thrown out.

I was at the Oregon Knife Collectors Association mini-meet in Eugene today and picked up a purple Kershaw Cal. Legal auto from the Kershaw Guy. We talked history, he is the premier historian BTW, and he showed me some prototypes (photos) of recently acquired vintage Kershaw folders made in Japan by Kai with petrified wood handles. Some were one of one. An axe one of one. Made back in the Pete Kershaw days and collected by one of the original employees. We had attended a private sale where I got skunked and he did not.

Photo from Desert Chris, Kai/Kershaw bone handle skinner model #2230 (low production number, some had brilliant scrimshaw) from mid 1980s when Pete Kershaw ran the show:

What had been sold out at the factory sale was available in Eugene. Dave, the Kershaw Guy, is one the finest human beings that I have ever met. He sets a high standard in this industry.

Wow, I'm always down for a meet up! Let me know if you ever hear about anything in the future as long as it isn't a problem. Next year's Eugene show will be a definite go and hopefully I see you there as well as the Kershaw sale. Thanks for following my Instagram, I'm going to be uploading much better pictures soon of some much higher end knives [emoji41]
