I still have a NIB Shallot in S110V but the only mods I did is putting some grip tape on the steel slabs. It's a needed addition to steel knives for me for safety reasons. I sold all my other shallots but this and one in damascus. The Damascus they used is one of the easiest to sharpen modern knives I've encountered. The Alabama damascuss has 5160, 52100, and ? It sure takes sharp edges with little effort. The S110V not so much but still not bad.

Shallots are nice knives.

Mastiff thanks for the response I love the Damascus blades I don't have that model but good to know it takes a good edge have had my shallot a couple years now the scales are slick as owl $#!+ so that is another mod I'll do at some point I may try to inlay some g10 or antler or do an entire scale rework but I like the handle weight so it's all in fun for me form and function kinda thing thanks again for the response be safe Semper Fi

I put Snap On Aluminum handles on my 3 S-110-V Shallots (blue, green, and red). It reduces the weight and improves the grip.

Do you know of any other waved, spring loaded flippers? Or are you going to take the spring out?

Well if I wave it I'll play with spring in and out I have a suspetion wave and spring might be to much together but I'll find out and let everyone know. This is the first spring assist flipper I've owned and like it so much I stopped looking for anything else for the money it just works for me not saying I don't want any other knife ( I'm looking at k- bits all the time but this is a solid knife in my opinion I just wanted to make it more "mine" if that makes since ? Lol I will always have a love affair with knives and I'm not even a lil bit sorry for it. Thanks for the idea tiguy7. I thought the snap on scales would be slick too for some reason Semper FI

Mark, always glad to talk about good using knives. It's one that never really became huge name wise except with the people that really like it. The Blur is another one that goes under the radar. Us folks that like them like them a lot. I really also enjoy the variety of blade steels and grips the Blur and Shallot were offered in.

The size and essentially everything about the Shallot works great for me but any knife with smooth steel slabs needs something to improve grip as I have less dexterity and now arthritis in my hands from a life time of use, squashing s, burns, frostbite, cuts, tears and about everything one can think of except gunshots and drowning. I was even hit by lightning once but that's not why I'm clumsy . :)

I used the stuff designed to go on bath tub floors. It peels off without any marring as long as the scales are clean with no grit underneath. Ugly compared to some of the customizing you talked about but it works.

I enjoy seeing people customize their knifes to better suit them. It's a good thing IMO.

Mastiff, the bathtub grip is a great idea and inexpensive I too have tired hands (swinging a hammer since I was 13 been blown up 2x's shot once 8 years in the USMC now an electrician so I get the hands thing totally but not at your level) great to talk to like minded folks and I can't get on here without learning something new. I'm still looking for a waved pic. My intent is to turn this shallot into a modified karambit. I feel the wave would be the first step followed by the retention ring. So that's my idea but may be less painful to just buy a k-bit but like I said it's fun for me and a hobby. I work alot so when it's all said and done pics will follow thanks everyone who reads this Semper Fi
