I really love this knife, I buy so many knives and most of them get sold or traded or put in my knife drawer/bag. Knives costing several hundered dollars have passed through my hands, I have held customs and and some of the most highly regarded knives in the industry, yet I am happiest with a $35 Skyline.
I think it strikes just the right chords with me, and it is fun to use, I really enjoy cutting things with it, I love the way it feels in my hand and I spend a lot of time just flipping it open and closed. It is so smooth and precise, feels like a finely tuned instrument.
The blade is a great slicer, it is thin yet doesn't feel delicate or fragile, it inspires confindence and I don't mind using it and getting it dirty.
The handle is thin yet comfortable, very lightweight and the way my index finger sits in the pronounced cut out makes it a joy to handle. I like the fact that one side doesn't have a liner, as I like looking at the G-10.
It is one of the best apple slicers I own, especially out of my more modern knives. It cuts everything well, from food prep to boxes to zip ties. My edge grind came a little crooked/uneven out of the box, but it sharpens so easily and it takes such a screaming sharp edge I don't mind putting it on a stone.
I could probably survive with just this one knife for the rest of my life, but I don't have to. I am still a knife nut and will continue to search for the next best thing, but this knife will be in my pocket until I do.
Right now I have my eye on an FFG Orange Endura 4 and one of the new American Lawman (had orignal and sold it). My Delica 4 is still my go-to knife if I am doing manual labor or going to a bad area, but the skyline follows me every where else.
I urge you to get one and see for yourself, no wait, I dare you, lol.
