kershaw spec bump

Kershaw is the only knife company who spends their money educating attorneys and LEO's. Any knife company who has an assisted opener and doesn't educate people is riding on Kershaw's coat tails. People who buy assisted opening knives should keep this point in mind when deciding what assisted opener to buy.

I'm surprised no one has replied to this statement. This is one of the strongest and most accurate quote's I have read on assisted openers. I trust this does somewhat influence future purchases of assisted openers, but I'm sure this is information that is not all that public, and new knowledge to most. I do wonder now that it has been mentioned, if it may change a few minds out there when making their AO knife decisions. You can bet the AO's are next to go on the banned list, right next to automatics.

To continue further, I know it is important to me that people and companies within our knife community get credit and are recognized for there accomplishments, and I'm not just talking assisted openers. Certainly there are those companies (they know who they are) that do ride the success coat tails of others, as well as "borrowing" technology", without taking the proper steps prior to producing their own similar products. IMO, this does influence me greatly when making my buying decisions. I would like to think all the knife manufacturer's would be more original in their designs, and ultimately have more integrity when producing similar type products and features that others have put so much time into, and spent so much money on, but, the almighty dollar can swing even the most righteous of us all. I'm sure it is all justified in the end, I mean how else could you sleep at night?

Can you remove teh ugly plastic back spacer during normal disassembly, or is it going to be difficult? I am ordering one ASAP and I'd like to know what I am in for if I decide to take out what seems to be the only undesireable feature of the knife.
