I can only help on the sanvic blade steel. I have a Storm that features this steel and have been very inpressed with edge holding and toughness. I don't know what the deg. of the original edge was, but I lowered mine to ~15 deg. with a ~20 micro bevel and it has proven to be a durable steel I really like. :thumbup:

I don't have or handled the two knives in question, but the Storm (~28.00 + shipping street price) is a solid knife and like I said this sanvic steel is really impressing me! I seem to be going backwards is my preference of steel. I've had just about all the stainless there is (no non-stainless) and I'm getting back to the AUSxs, 440xs, etc.....
