Hi guys,

I found some good deals on the above knife, but I'm overseas for a few weeks and won't be buying U.S. stuff for awhile so I have time to research. Anyways, I think what I found has only 3cr steel. Is this the only version of steel this knife comes in? I thought I remembered reading that 8cr is also an option, but now I am not sure. I think I'd only pull the trigger with 8cr, but then again, good deals are good deals I guess.

Also, if anyone could provide size comparison pics I would be grateful. I've heard it is rather smaller, and heavier, than it appears in pics online.

Anyhow, thanks all for taking the time. Greetings from Poland.

I'm pretty sure the starter series only comes in 3cr, who h is why it's the "starter" series, with a very basic entry level steel...

About the same weight as a Buck 110 with a slightly shorter blade.
On the one I have, action is smooth, locks up great, and there is no play.
I removed the thumbstud because it is too close to the pivot. The flipper is more effective.

Pretty sharp out of the box, but I haven't put it to much use yet (some people use their blades for everything they do; I use specific tools for specific jobs - box cutters for box cutting, kitchen knives for food prep, an axe and hatchet for firewood).

Kershaw states the steel is 4cr14.
For fifteen bucks, you'll be happy (and if not, you could easily sell it or gift it without breaking the bank).
