Last weekend I bought a Kershaw Steven Seagal folder at a gun show. Solid knife, with a AUS8 blade, came very sharp. After I got home I noticed 5 "X's" on top of the "Kershaw" on the left side of the blade. Does this mean it is a second? All I could see is that the grind on the right side of the blade is a little higher than the left side.

Thomas, thanks for the information. As I said cannot find anything wrong other than one side having a little higher grind, very sharp and solid and I will enjoy it. Thanks again.

Kershaw has very high quality standards, may be somthing you would never even notice. Your knife would never even get out the door if it had any major issues, even as a second.

My Seagal is also a "second" because the stingray inserts are slightly too small and leave a little gap. The knife is awesome! I think the RETAIL price is a little high, but most can get it for less than $80. Great deal at that price.

I would think a Steven Seagal knife would be a bit on the heavy side, with an outdated design, exagerrated intimidation factor and poor action...

John. I bought four for $35 but they were first run ( no XXX) from a seller on Ebay. but that said I don't think it matters for a user....Enjoy !!

Comoha, this knife is a super smooth opener and at the $35 price is a bargin with GREAT action and a useful blade....if it is too heavy for you get to the gym.....

I found one at a sporting goods store for 56.00. Not a second. Never thought much about buying one just seeing it in print. (they almost was twice that price, plus it didn't look so great) but it person this blade is well made, solid as a rock, opens in a flash. As for intimidation well what do you expect for anything with Steven Seagal's name?

He was joking.

you must be the only sharp one stevekt. yes I was joking. why anyone would think it cool to own a Steven Seagal endorsed item is beyond me. that ponytail and cliched tough guy talk went out with Vanilla Ice and acid washed jeans. I wonder if they have a Jean Claude Van Damme :barf: model...

I don't like blades with somebodies name on them. Especially when they sign it. But for 56 bucks its a deal.

I would never buy a knife with his name on it. Might as well get a Jane Fonda NVA bayonet or an Alek Baldwin kish knife!

I would love a Jane Fonda NVA bayonet.
The reason the knife is such a good deal is because it has Steve's name on it.
I almost bought one and would have polished off the name. I got a whicked deal on a Gerber multi tool because it was the Terminator 3 model as well.

I clicked on this thread thinking it was Steven Seagal from the SEAL's. Woops. The actor is a moron and a fake and i would never buy anything with his name on it.

i like the knife but with his name on it it would be laughed at when i pulled it out so i went with the spec bump

The actor is a moron and a fake ...

How clever of you to notice. He's an ACTOR, and faking -- faking a character, faking an attitude, faking an emotion, faking an ability -- is what actors do for living.

The ones who let this talent carry over into their personal lives tend to become less and less admirable. But he didn't design or make the knife. His friend designed and made it, as inspired by his movie roles.

I notice that people who own the knife and use it for what it does as a knife find it worth the money. YMMV.

I like the design of this knife. But... I'm not keen on having some gaudy lettering on the blade. I also like the Spyker but because of the name on the blade, no way. Almost "Mall Ninja".

before you make an attempt at second grade sarcasim, you should do some research on Steven and his many claims. Many which have pissed off a lot of people in the specops world. Or see the ever popular event with him and Gene LeBell where he was choked unconcious and pissed himself. His history of saying how lethal he "really" is, is long. How noble of you to jump and defend him.. perhaps you admire him, others dispise him. Deal with it.
As for the YMMV; I do not have 20,000 posts like you and am not an internet junkie, therefore i do not know what it means.
